I’m James Arbuckle, a U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer (ret.) transitioning into a civilian career in cybersecurity and computer networking after 22 years of dedicated service. Throughout my military career, I built a reputation for leadership, attention to detail, and mission-focused execution; skills that now fuel my passion for protecting and strengthening modern networks.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity with a concentration in Digital Forensics, and I am currently preparing for CompTIA Security+ certification while actively expanding my technical expertise through hands-on labs and projects. My areas of interest include:
Cybersecurity & Network Defense: Identifying threats, hardening systems, and defending critical infrastructure.
Computer Networking: Configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, and firewalls, with experience in both physical and virtualized environments.
Linux Systems: Leveraging open-source operating systems for secure, reliable, and efficient solutions.
I enjoy tackling complex challenges, building secure networks, and continuously sharpening my technical skill set. This site highlights my ongoing studies, projects, and lab work as I advance toward a career in cybersecurity and network engineering.
